The gas content in fluids is a very important indicator to many processes:

1. Foaming of lubricating oils in applications involving turbulence, high speed gearing or high volume pumping can cause inadequate lubrication, cavitation, overflow and premature oxidation.

2. Anti-foaming agents and foam control agents are used in a wide variety of applications, e.g. oil production, fermentation processes, and detergent development and usage. Anti-foaming agents are based e.g. on paraffines, silicone or polyglycol.

3. In foam production, the gas injection has to be controlled thoroughly to keep a consistent quality. This covers not just polyurethane or similar foams or adhesive sealings but also food industry, e.g. the production of mousse au chocolat.

4. Glue foam is used to produce bondings which are more flexible at the same stability. Furthermore, glue foams require up to 30% less glue, especially in glueching machines.

The CGS System monitors a fluid's degree of foaming in-line and continuously. It is irrespective of the flow mode and has no moving parts. Temperature and pressure transducers are integrated.

The CGS System can be used as control system in the fields of technical production where the degree of foaming is a crucial quality feature or where production cost can be reduced by injecting an accurately controlled amount of gas.
