The Roll Stability Tester operates according to  ASTM D 1831: A lubricant is stressed mechanically in heated, rotating tubular blank with an internal roll, which is similar to the wear in ball bearings, roller bearings, etc. This tests are processed at different temperatures and duration.

Further tests - e. g. penetration - then show alteration of the lubricant and give a measure for its durability abd stability under standardised wear conditions.

With its insulated heating zone and ist circulation fan, the Roll Stability Tester provides an optimal temperature distribution.
Constant temperatures of 200 °C are possible, even at long time runs, which are automated by the adjustable, digital timer.

The optionally available adjustable rotation speed control (100-200 rpm) makes the development of new test standards possible.

The test cylinders and rolls are also available made of stainless steel.
